MURG is a not for profit membership organisation with an executive committee , which organises meetings and responds to government consultations in line with its membership’s views.
MURG’s membership comprises universities from across England, Wales and Scotland. Some of its members are also members of several mission groups such as Million+ and University Alliance . Membership of MURG is not mutually exclusive to these other organisations as MURG is NOT a mission group. MURG’s sole focus is research in modern universities.
To become a member, an organisation must have university status and have a strong commitment to pursuing excellent, innovative research at the highest level.
The current annual subscription runs from 1st September to 31st August and for 2011-12 will be £400 per organisation [this fee will be frozen for the next 2 years].
Once your organisation is a member, it can send anyone to events for the special member rate. The fee covers the basic administration of the organisation – all our events cover their own costs. MURG always maintains to keep the cost of events to the absolute minimum for its members and often has various options for attendance to allow people to opt out of sessions or conference dinners they do not wish to pay for.
