Technology Strategy Board launches its £2m “Technology-inspired innovation” competition

The Competition
The feasibility studies are designed to stimulate innovation and to help ensure that small and micro businesses in the UK are well equipped to respond to society’s current and future challenges.

Core Technology Areas
The TSB are seeking projects in the fields of

  • Advanced materials and nanoscale technologies
  • Biosciences
  • Electronics, photonics and electrical systems
  • Information and communications technology

Who can apply
The competition is open to small and micro companies only, working either singly or in collaboration with one partner.

Project Details
Projects can last up to four months and are eligible for grants of up to £25,000. Total project costs must not exceed £33,000. Successful projects must start on 1 August 2012.
Application process
This is a single-stage competition. It opened today – Monday 12 March 2012 and the deadline for receipt of applications is at noon on 11 April 2012.
